Short story class added to online offerings

(CONCORDIA, Kan) --- Cloud County Community College recently added The Short Story to its online open-enrollment online course offerings.

The Short Story is a survey of short stories from both American and selected world authors. Selected short stories from different eras are studied. Assigned readings, various themes and literary analysis are included.

The course will introduce students to the basic elements of literature through a concentrated look at the genre of the short story. In addition, students will be asked to analyze literature through responses in discussion boards, assignments, papers and projects. At the conclusion of this course, students will have a better appreciation for the craft of short story writing as well as improved writing and analytical skills.

Susan Cantine-Maxson, CCCC adjunct English faculty member, is the instructor for the class.
